In Italy the family is the centre of the social structure. in the north, generally the close family lives together. where as in the south the extended family will always live in the one house. Italians live this way as for hundreds of years they have needed their family for financial support and to help run a business, most Italian restaurants family owned and have been passed down through generations, family companies are an important part of life for most italian families.
Appearance matters in Italy. The way you dress can indicate your social status, your families background, and your education. people in Italy often take the first impression as the last impression in Italy, if your not well presented the people will try to avoid you. They are extremely fashion conscious and judge people on their appearance, they judge your clothes, shoes, accessories and the way you carry yourself. the main religion in Italy is Roman Catholic. Not every goes to church or any services but the influence of the church is still strong. most children in Italy will be named after a saint and will celebrate their saints birthday like it was their own.
Food is a huge part of italian culture, the reason being is that italians being so family orientated, they will sit down almost every day during their siesta and enjoy a family lunch. during this time the family will converse about their day and how their lives are going, in Italy they do not have any standard of privacy when it comes to their lives and whats been happening with their relationships. Although people do not discus their finical status when it comes to how business is going.
